OPTIMALISASI PERAN FAMILY CARE GIVER DALAM SELF- MANAGEMENT HIPERTENSI DI DESA WERDI BHUWANA, MENGWI
Abstract
Family caregivers, currently play an important role in caring for older people with hypertension and empowering them to care for themselves independently. In helping to provide care for the older people, family caregivers are often stressed by their condition because they have to volunteer their time and are responsible as family members. So, it is not uncommon to find the quality of life of family caregivers to be very low. This community service aimed to provide education and training to help older people care for themselves independently. The methods used in this activity were divided into preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. This program was carried out in Banjar Sayan Baleran and Banjar Binong, Werdi Bhuwana Village, Mengwi, Badung. After carrying out pre- and post-test measurements, this activity showed a significant increase in family caregivers' knowledge after being given an education and training program. This program can help family caregivers provide good self-care for hypertension in the older people. It is hoped that his following community engagement activities will focus more on assisting family caregivers in caring for older people with hypertension at home.
