The team nursing care model is one of the efforts to improve the quality of nursing services at Sundari General Hospital, Medan. This study aims to provide recommendations for optimizing the implementation of the team nursing care model in improving nurses’ performance at Sundari General Hospital, Medan.The research method used a descriptive observational approach with a cross-sectional design and chi-square test. The population in this study consisted of all inpatient ward nurses, totaling 26 nurses, with 22 nurses included as samples who met the inclusion criteria.The results showed that organizational factors, including the leadership subvariable (p = 0.014), reward system (p = 0.024), and training and development (p = 0.033), were significantly associated with the implementation of the team nursing care model, with p-values < 0.05. In conclusion, the implementation of the Professional Nursing Care Method using the team model at Sundari General Hospital, Medan, has not been optimal. Therefore, improvements are needed through restructuring organizational factors, enhancing nurses’ knowledge through training and continuous professional development, and optimizing the allocation of available nursing staff.
