Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) in nurses, also known as Low Back Pain, is a condition of pain, soreness, or stiffness in the lower back area (between the ribs and buttocks). It is very common in nurses due to heavy physical activities such as lifting patients, unergonomic working postures, and high workloads. This can interfere with their quality of life and performance.
Methods: This is a quantitative analytical study using a cross-sectional design, measuring the independent variable of knowledge and the dependent variable of low back pain prevention behavior in nurses simultaneously. The sample size for this study was 95 people.
Results: The analysis found a relationship between knowledge and low back pain prevention behavior in nurses at Sundari General Hospital (P value 0.000 < α 0.05) and (OR = 31.271). Hospitals are recommended to implement technical and administrative controls to reduce the risk of low back pain in nurses. Prioritizing nurses' own health can improve nurses' effectiveness in serving and caring for patients.
Conclusion: Nurses with good knowledge tend to demonstrate better LBP prevention behaviors compared to nurses with less knowledge. The high Odds Ratio indicates that knowledge plays a significant role in encouraging nurses to take LBP prevention measures.
